Homework for you over the Holiday Break.

Friends and Family and Lurkers,
It's time that you caught up with some of this season's finer shows as well as catch some "not to be missed" end of year episodes. Use this as an excuse to get away from your family, eat up some down time or just take it all in on your new HDTV flat panel which I hope Santa is bringing you. Time to break that new tv in right?

First I must say I was left with my mouth wide open this week at the cliffhanging episode of Battelstar Galactica. Wow could it be? I'll have to ask EJO (Edward James Olmos-or Adama as he's known on the show) this week, if Jenny and I can get to him on Friday at EPCOT, what the Frack is going on? It was such a good show and for those of you who haven't been onboard since the mini series appeared.. Well add this to your homework: Battlestar Galactica (Season 1 DVD set that includes the mini series) b/c you don't know what you're missing.

Friday Night Lights- You're lucky on this one and have a chance to catch up on a mini marathon of this show on Wednesday Dec 27 where NBC will be playing three episodes back to back. Or if you don't have time to schedule around this timeslot, you can view full episodes here.

Heroes- Save the Cheerleader, Save the World. If you don't know what that means, just walk out in front of a 4 lane road of traffic right now. Wow! Breathtaking...moving, and keeps you on the edge of your seat. If you missed Heroes this season, which you'd probably have to be under a rock to do so, you need to catch up. NBC will be having a marathon beginning January 1, but you can view full episodes here.

The Office- ahh the folks at Dunder Mifflin have done it again.. forming committees and subcommittees. Hmmm sounds like some jobs I've held in the past. A great hit for those of us in cubicle world or in the office land of "noise" machines above the ceiling tile and phones that ring like Jack Bauer's on 24. But you have to check this out over the break. Catch up with the first or second season on DVD. And for those of you enjoying the Benihana christmas episode from this third season, NBC will re-air that this Thursday 12/21. Plus the NBC site is full of goodies for this show: Click here. Lastly I'll say that if you haven't yet seen the BBC's version of the Office with Ricky Gervais, you need to get onboard brother and watch it. It's what inspired the US version. It's very funny and Ricky is so awesome in it. Check it out here

24 is coming back faster than you can say "Mr. President". So Strap on those boots, Pack your "instant death" drugs, and get in your FORD vehicle of choice!! It's on and Jack's coming to kick your butt, Chloe's coming back (sans Edgar) to re-route the firewall to the telnet backdoor, and all the crazy folks from CTU are coming with them. Jack Bauer returns for Season 6 of 24 on 1/14/07. So you have plenty of time to get through the first five seasons or 120 hours of actual show this holiday. Just go rent the DVD box sets or whatever, turn off your cell phones and just watch them back to back like my friends Keith, Heidi and Kevin, and some other people do. It's one heck of a roller coaster and it's muy bueno. I will miss Edgar and his lisp... oh and the love/hate relationship with the always approachable Chloe, who reminds me of some of my friends.

Ok so that's plenty of homework for you. But before you forget.. I had to throw in the show Jenny and I love to watch every weekend as it makes fun of everyone and everything. Just like we do. The Soup has it's year end ClipDown '06 show this coming weekend and I'm sure you'll see it being aired many different times on E! when you check your Tivo scheduler. Catch it over the break and enjoy. It's quite the funny show and man do they rip on people. Plus some of the segments are funny such as "What the Kids are Watching" and "What your Boyfriend is Watching". It will be interesting to see what they talk about in the wrap up for 2006. Get ready to laugh a little or a lot as we do with Joel McHale.

There you have it folks, some homework for you to watch in between the bowl games this holiday. There were other great shows that aired this past FALL, but the above is enough to get you started. You're not a pro yet. Patience my son... Patience..

And don't say there isn't anything good on TV. There's plenty on the tube! My TIVO's will have to be ready for the job in 2007!

Feliz Navidad!
