Heading to see the Launch this Thursday...

Good Morning,

The countdown for launch is on! As a great way to cap off the regular football season, Jenny and I are heading out to Titusville on Thursday night to see the Shuttle night launch. We're going to see it from a friend's place. It's the first time in like 4 years that NASA has launched a shuttle at night. Discovery will be the shuttle assigned to this mission titled STS-116. It looks like they are taking up a P-truss spacer up to the space station and doing a little re-wiring. While Jenny and I will be out at Titusville- a few miles from the launch site, we'll be tivoing the Launch on NASA TV so that I can see it from multiple angles on replay and stuff like that. It should be cool to see.

I've heard the night sky lights up as if it's daylight when these puppies go up. So we'll see and hope that this thing takes off on time at 9:35 on Thursday night. It will be the second time Jenny and I watch Discovery take off from Kennedy this year.

In Tress we Trust... The Buckeye Nation is strong.

Good Morning folks,

From behind enemy lines, I'm sending you this report. It's interesting to see the awakening here deep within the Gator Nation. As we Buckeyes had our tickets punched for Glendale back in November... everyone else was waiting to see what would happen. Many thought re-match, then USC, and now Gators. I don't know if I agree with the ruling, and Herbie brought up a good point as to why pollsters didn't respect Florida by not bumping them up in the rankings once they bounced back after the Auburn demise. But now all of a sudden they bypass the fighting Lloyd Carrs. I also hear now from the forums that the Wolverines are claiming this was fixed because the Buckeyes feared losing to the Wolverines in a rematch. I think the Buckeyes could beat the Wolverines again, even if in the desert. Heck, we beat them in their very own home plenty of times.

Eitherway, I don't see the spirit in the Gator Nation that I am accustomed to seeing in the Buckeye Nation over the past couple days after the announcement, so I like that. The Gators are going to come into a sea of scarlet and gray when they arrive in Glendale as AZ is like Columbus South. I've even had FSU and Miami fans approach me and stating they are rooting for the Buckeyes on this game. So for now I'll let the Gator fans enjoy their moment and their holidays, as come January 8th, they'll see what the Buckeye Nation and the Buckeyes are all about.
